The text package available from the Elgin Community
College Bookstore includes the text book, a Student's Solution Manual, an
Interactive CD-ROM which is for IBM-compatible computers only, a Graphing
Calulator Manual, and a Graphing Calculator Video.
These items may be purchased in person from the Elgin Community College Bookstore, or you may order them by phone or E-mail with a credit card and have them shipped.
Order by Phone Call (847) 697-1000 Ex. 7443 after you have enrolled in class. The bookstore hours are 8AM to 7PM Monday through Thursday and 8AM to 4:30PM Friday, Central Time.

CD ROM Drive in Your Computer
Aside from the computer requirements listed in the student manual for online
courses, you will need a CD ROM with your computer at least "Double
Speed" 2X. Note: The CD ROM that comes with the text comes only
in IBM compatible format.

Graphing Calculator - The Texas Instruments Model TI-83 is the recommended
model, however, the TI - 82 is also a a good choice. The CD ROM software
includes an Interactive Graphing Calculator which emulates the actual calculator.
You will have this available at any time while running the software program.
However, you may want to have a handheld model to work with when not at the
computer and to take the final exam on campus. They can be purchased from
most local retailers who carry electronic goods for approximately $90, or
can be purchased through the bookstore.
You will need access to a VCR. There will be a series of videos
for this course available for viewing at the Elgin Community College Library
during its normal hours. There is no charge for this and they can be
viewed as often as desired. There is also a video which comes with the text
package.
Access to a Fax Machine. Many of the assignments are too complicated
to be E-mailed. Some assignments can be mailed through the postal service.
However, because of time elements, there will be some tests and quizes must
be faxed to me at the given Fax number.
A Computer with a 486 or higher Intel Processor or similar
with a minimum of 16Mb RAM. Access to the Internet through an Internet Service
Provider. You also need your own E-mail account.

- Note: Access to the internet through America Online is a viable option, however please download Netscape Navigator or Microsoft Internet Explorer to be used with AOL.
